StopIt

When should you report a computer violation to StopIt?

If you suspect an abuse of GMU’s information technology policies and guidelines, including:

  • Threatening or harassing messages,
  • Spam ONLY if generated by a Mason USER (this means the sender will have an @gmu.edu address or GMU IP address),
  • Promotion of a private business when the sender's e-mail address ends in @gmu.edu,
  • A law is being broken using Mason information technology resources,
  • A Mason Internet Protocol (IP) address has sent you a virus,
  • You found a Mason website that has been defaced, or
  • A Mason user has probed your computer.
